Sonneborn offers a wide variety of
products to the food industry where
applications demand high purity and
excellent performance.
For the dairy industry Sonneborn offers
a large variety of cheese waxes. Our
cheese waxes give cheeses an appealing
appearance, prevent weight loss and are
used to regulate the ripening. It is
a very reliable protection against
mold and consequently it will extend
the shelf-life of the cheese. Cheese
waxes are available in a wide variety
of colors as well as in uncolored versions
and can be tailor-made for all
kind of waxing machinery.
For the baking industry, Sonneborn
offers three types of products: Divider
oils are USP/NF white mineral oils
of varying viscosities that offer lubrication
and ease of handling of the dough;
Trough Greases, which are USP petrolatums
that coat dough troughs to prevent
the dough from sticking to the sides
after it comes from the mixer; and
Pan Oils, which are usually blends
of vegetable and mineral oils. The
mineral oil component provides greater
viscosity than the vegetable oil, for
better cling to the sides of the pan. It
also has greater oxidation stability,
and will reduce the amount of glazing
that can occur in the pan.
